Risk Assessment

At Gaining Ground we make it our business to fully understand your problem and the specific regulatory context in which it has arisen. That way we can make sure that the risk assessment focuses on the real health and environmental risks posed.

We do this by following the government’s guidelines and develop a Conceptual Site Model (CSM). Development of a CSM benefits the risk assessment process in two ways:

• It saves time and money –it eliminates areas from further investigation by identifying breaks in the source-pathway-receptor linkage.
• Optimises resources – by identifying the real areas of concern, resources are concentrated on relevant areas only. This facilitates the development of a quality, cost-effective risk management strategy.

Most commonly used methods are the CLR7-CLR10 framework for assessing chronic risks to human health and the Environment Agency’s P20 methodology for assessing risks to controlled waters.

Other assessment tools are available for use depending upon specific conditions. Gaining Ground will use the most appropriate risk assessment methodology for your site.

A simple Tier 1 Qualitative Risk Screening starts from as little as £750.00 and will include a preliminary CSM in the report.
